Parameter Search

In many of the jXchange services, parameters are supplied by Service Providers for certain code element values. The parameters are not supplied in the XSD contract, but can be obtained from the Service Provider by use of the jXchange Parameter Value Search Request (ParmValSrchRq) service.

With the jXchange Parameter Value Request service, a Third Party Consumer may request a list of parameter values associated with element codes, such as AcctRelCode, BrCode, FedWithCode, etc. The Third Party Consumer supplies the jXchange element name for the parameter, a template of information pertinent to identifying the type of parameter, and the type and/or variation of template that applies to the element code.

Message Flow

Message flow for parameter value searches can be defined by the number of calls, or in the definition of the detail requested from the Third Party Consumer. For example, a request can be made to return all parameters in reference to all the bank’s branches. In a primary or consecutive request, the information needed can be further defined in the ParmCriteriaArray by defining the specific parameter information needed in reference to a specific branch.

Primary Request

The Third Party Consumer will issue the ParmValSrchRq request message containing one canonical value the parameter name field ParmName, a call level element ParmCallLvl to number the call, and the ParmCriteriaArray element to further define the parameter search, if necessary.

Primary Response

Once the Service Provider has received a request for specific parameter values, it returns a response message ParmValSrchRs containing the information originally sent in the request by the Third Party Consumer to confirm the request ParmName, ParmCallLvl, and ParmCriteriaArray, as well as the ParmValSrchRec to contain and detail the returned parameter(s).

Behavior
