OFAC Search Behavior
The OFACSrchRq_MType
requires the submission of a Common Name. The
OFACSrchRq_MType
includes an optional documented filter for the
ComNameType
. The default canonical value is
~Unknown~.
This OFAC Search operation is designed to facilitate the navigation of the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list (SDN List). It uses literal character matching logic to identify exact matches between word or character strings exactly as entered into OFAC Search, and any name or other information exactly as it appears on the SDN list.
OFAC search uses SoundX to search similar names. SoundX converts a name to a numeric value, which is designated as the key. The key is used to retrieve information from the database. For example, the words Phil, Fill, and Feel generate the same numeric value or key and because of this, the same information is retrieved from the database for each of the words. You do not need to know the exact spelling of the name to search for it using SoundX. This is helpful when searching, but extra names may be pulled from the database.
The elements at the root request message are echoed back at the root response even if those same elements exist in the repeating complex.
